If this is your first visit to the Mulga Road Books web site, you are invited to register your name and email address to receive our planned monthly newsletter. We are planning a number of activities for our clients and this will include a Readers Book Club for local customers and as the site develops this may extend to the Internet. Our Newsletter Editor, Carolyn Little, is interested to hear from customers of their particular interests so that we can tailor the Newsletter to your needs.
Start off using your Mulga Road Books site by registering below. All information will be confidential to this site and not sold off to other businesses.
To become a Registered Customer or Volunteer:
Click on the link Customer Registration in the “This site” menu on the LHS of the page.
When this page opens click on Register
- Complete your details in the form provided.
- Underneath the form there is a “spam catcha” calculation to prevent robots from registering.
- Complete the arithmetic calculation.
- Then click the Register button again.
- An email will then be sent to your email address with a link in it.
- Click on this link and it will then activate your registration on the website.
You will then have access to information restricted to registered Customers and Volunteers. This will add additional items to the menu bar on the LHS of the page.
In Development - February 2012
We have just installed a new computer with the "Mind Your Own Business Retail Ready" package on it. We are currently developing a database of the fiction books on the shelves. This is the highest selling category of books. We aim to be able to answer customer questions of what we have and where it is, to provide better customer service.
We then intend to progressively add a database list for each other section in the shop. As this is done each database will be added to the website so that you can see what we have available. Ultimately we want to be able to sell direct on the internet from our website.
Storeroom reorganisation
We express our gratitude to everyone who has donated books to our shop. We were overwhelmed with donations towards the end of last year and have been working diligently to reorganise how we process them.
We are currently installing new shelving into the storeroom so that we can better sort and group books for:
- sale in the shop
- redistibution to other community groups
We appreciate your patience when we ask if you can hold books temporarily until we can take more. We do understand that sometimes this is not possible and that you need to donate them to someone who can take them immediately.
"Donations in Kind" to other community groups, who can benefit from a gift of books, is one stategy we are developing to put donations to good use.
Some things that are being planned are:
- Author Events and book signings
- Author profiles
- Book Club
- Special interest groups such as Crime , Sci- Fi, History, etc.
